Ok, no but seriously. Even though this is just another reason to love this man, I am so incredibly happy that actors are starting to come out with this stuff. Lara Pulver is anti-labels, now Hiddles, there was that bit (mostly rumor) about Raven.
This may all seem like “well, great, whatever, they’re just realizing what we already knew”. But no, guys. This is so good. Because once you get public figures making statements like that, people start talking about it, and people start opening their minds to it.
If Benedict Cumberbatch can inspire people to be actors, if numerous, numerous other actors can inspire that creativity, can inspire philanthropy, etc., then actors can also inspire tolerance and the widening of our concepts. A lot of people say we shouldn’t give much attention to it because then it makes all the labels and everything that much more obvious. But until we do finally accept everyone, no matter who they are, and forget about labels, when none of it matters anymore, we have to show that it’s okay to think this way. People listen to those in the media. And our Congress, our politicians, parliaments, you name it, they certainly are not going to start talking about this until it becomes something everyone knows. People know and understand what being gay means - even if they are assholes and don’t support it. But people don’t understand the gray areas - they don’t understand that you can go without labels, or you can apply more than one to yourself.
So every time I hear someone else I admire in the public spotlight talk about this, it just makes me so happy. The first step is embracing it. The next is spreading it and fighting for tolerance. For everyone.
Hate to burst your bubble friends. But check your source. Does this look like a legitimate source? It’s a picture of some one’s computer screen on what appears to be a personal blogging site. As nice as it would be for him to come out as Queer (believe me I would be super excited) I am sure this is a fraud. About 99% sure because it starts off with “I’m single” AND TOM HIDDLESTON IS DATING SUSANNAH FIELDING FOLKS. She’s a perfectly lovely British actress and they seem to be really happy together so I wish them the best. But if this article is claiming to be at all accurate then they should have mentioned Susannah. But it didn’t. Soooo I’m going to have to call troll on this one. Sorry to be Debbie Downer on this. Beautiful commentary above though. ^ More people should accept that sexual and gender fluidity is a thing yada yada you know my stance on this followers.

Story of a Five Year-Old Avenger, Meeting the Avengers
“Hi, Loki!” my wife said (100% sure she didn’t know Tim Hiddleston’s name). “Can my son get a picture with you?” she asked. “Can I put him on my shoulders?” Loki asks. “Um … okay?” is Jill’s response and hands Tom Hiddleston our son. He hoists him up on to his shoulders (I should mention that this guy is like 8 feet tall), and my wife takes out her Blackberry, only to find that it’s on its last battery leg. Nonetheless she manages to get a couple of shots. Hiddleston puts Edison down, shakes his hand and says goodbye…
… Evans crouches down next to Edison, who extends his hand and shakes the hand of The First Avenger. “Can I see your shield?” Evans asks and Edison hands his battered toy shield over. “Wow, you’re getting a lot of use out of this. You fighting a lot of bad guys with this?” he asks. Chris Evans and Edison proceed to have a conversation about the finer points of shields and fighting the enemy.
TOO DAMN PRECIOUS. This reminds of the other day when the Avengers had just come out I was riding the train to class and I looked out the window at the local daycare by Addison on the Red Line and saw a kid with hulk hands chasing two kids, one with an iron man helmet and the other with a Captain America shield. And I had the thought, “Superheros are real. They just so happen to also be actors. Man these guys must be really proud of what they do for millions of kids and adults.” It made me grin like an idiot.
